ABOUT JILLIAN MATUNDAN: Jillian Matundan is an award-winning, multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter living in Northern Virginia who rediscovered her musical voice after a 15 year hiatus. Encouraged by friends and fellow songwriters, Jillian began playing solo at local open mics in 2019, sharing songs she had only started writing a few months before and has been on a tear, winning ten Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Awards since. Jillian was described by Guitar International Magazine as "a multi-instrumentalist with a talent and intuitive grasp of songwriting, with catchy riffs, cool poignant melodies and a presence that’s at once genuine, earnest and charming.” She wins over audiences with her deft and percussive guitar style, soothing vocals, and warm, unassuming (and self-deprecating) stage presence. As a result, she has opened and shared the stage with prominent local and international musicians, and is in demand at popular shows and venues such as the Rockwood Music Hall, Club Passim, Jammin' Java, the Edwards Opera House, The Wharf DC, Epicure Cafe, and Earp's Ordinary. She released her debut EP, "Hangin' On", in 2020 and will release her first full-length, fully crowd-funded album in 2023.
"Jillian Matundan has a husky voice that can be intimate, sensual or strong – with a percussive guitar sensibility that endangers folk audiences with imminent boogie." - ilyAIMY https://youtu.be/k7jSgBJyigA https://jillianmatundan.com https://www.facebook.com/KeezamonkeeMusic/
ABOUT RAQUEL VIDAL Raquel Vidal is an indie singer-songwriter whose amazing work can also be heard fully fleshed out in her band, Diamond Hotel. Her lyrics explore the dark corridors of the human experience, ultimately revealing the light, wit and wisdom seeping through. Piano ballad confessionals and thought-provoking lyrics punctuated by rhythmic guitar are equally at home in her sets and are delivered like smooth bourbon. She has appeared on various stages and recording studios solo and in support of others, and her band has been featured live on WFUV’s, “On Your Radar”. One of the co-founders of Writing A Song That Matters songwriting retreats with Dar Williams, she mentors songwriters in her workshops there and loves the thriving songwriting community that continues to grow after a decade and over 20 retreats. Raquel is currently in the studio putting finishing touches on a solo EP full of pandemic-infused wisdom, and is wrapping a full length band album, “Imagining the Sun” with Diamond Hotel. “...darkly cinematic...voicing a bittersweet optimism.” - New York Music Daily
