About the Artists Deccan Trapps is a DC-based duo featuring Sirtaj Kaur (vocals, guitar, drums) and Jasper Hobbs (guitar, saxophone, vocals). Their different influences of blues, rock, country, jazz, indie and Indian folk come together in originals and a unique take on covers. Emily Hall is a D.C. based singer-songwriter who embodies the mission of songwriting as medicine for the modern world. Her ethereal vocals and intriguing lyrics draw listeners deep through an eclectic blend of progressive folk-rock with meditative undertones. “Compassion is Progress,” Emily’s latest record explores the timeless human themes of fear, anger, grief, loneliness, longing, joy, compassion, and belonging. Jillian Matundan is an award-winning, multi-instrumental singer/songwriter from Northern Virginia by way of Central New York, where she was trained in classical violin from the age of three. Jillian began playing solo at local open mics after a 15 year hiatus from writing and performing her own music in 2019 and since, has become the Vienna Idol 2019 runner-up, the winner of five Mid-Atlantic Song Contest awards and in the Songwriter Association of Washington's first COVIDEO contest. Jonathan Hawkins is a DC-based guitarist/singer, multi-instrumentalist, and arranger, with credits in national and international Broadway tours. He performs a repertoire of blues, early jazz, and folk-inspired music under the stage name Little Lawnmowers, featuring percussive fingerstyle guitar, soulful lyrics, and two-hand technique on the guitar. Jonathan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music. He is currently the Music Director and designer of the Social Distance Sound System at School of Rock DC Cleveland Park.
